Cranford AC Notes

Cranford athletes had a busy weekend with Day 1 of the winter Track and Field competition held in Letterkenny under glorious conditions.

Our U10  boys got off to a brilliant start to the day with a second place finish in the relay with Charlie Rogers, Oisin Giles, Cody Boyce, and Faolan Caldwell, all having great runs over the 200 X 4 race. Cody went on to won  the long jump with Faolan in 2nd place.

Sarah Coyle and Megan logue, we’re our U10 girls both competed well Sarah had a good long jump as well as competing well in the 60m and 300m and Megan was joint first in the high jump, got to the final in 60m. Well done girls.

Our U12 boys equally got off to a great start to the day with silver in the relay with Oisin Mc bride, Oisin Mc Hugh, Rory Boyce and Ben Mc Gee. Great running boys Oisin Mc Bride went on to won  Gold the 600m which was a great and very tight race to watch and finishing the day with a silver in the 60m. Rory and Ben competed well in both the 60m 600m and long jump. Oisin Mc Hugh was unable to continue due to injury.

Olivia was our only girl U12 and jumping a Pb with every jump

one to watch in next few weeks.

Day 2 was held in FV on Sunday with another great day, under sunny sky’s.

Cranford had 5 athletes compete, Darragh Mc Hugh and Ciaron Cooney, competed under 14 boys both doing really well in their 60m and 800m and Ciaron getting a bronze medal in his long jump with Darragh with a 4th place finish.

Lilla Gerwatowska and Karen Neely were our U14 girls, both did well in the 60m with Lilla having a great 800m just missing out on a medal.

in the shot and a 4th place finish in the 60m a new event for Orla.

Caolan Mc Fadden continues his good form, being part of the Irish team who won silver at the Schools mixed relay  international championships held in Wales last weekend. Congratulations from all at Cranford AC.
