Two Ulster Champions for Cranford AC,

Kelly wins All Ireland school title.

It was a early start to Sunday morning when Cranford AC athletes made the journey to Clones.

Our only U9 boys was Cody Boyce and Cody was in great form today with a Gold in long Jump and crowned Ulster Champion and a silver in the 60m, congratulations Cody, one to watch in the future.

Sarah Coyle was our U10 representative and as always Sarah give 100% and doing well in her turbo with a  top 15 place  finish in Ulster, well done Sarah.

Our U 10 boys were out in force with Faolan Caldwell, Oisin Giles,,James Cooney and Charlie Rogers, all competing very well with Faolan getting a well deserved bronze medal in the long jump and his team coming third with partner Charlie they now qualify for the National Children games in Tullamore.  Oisin had a great jump in the long jump 1 cm away from his PB James had a good throw in his turbo ending up in 12 position. Our boys had a really great run in the relay but with a slight hiccup in the baton change we just missed out on medals but the boys will be back.

Cranford AC U11 girl was Olivia Curran, she was very impressive in her long jump with a new PB again this week. Keep up the good work.

Matthew Giles, Rory Boyce,Ben Mc Gee, Oisin Mc Hugh, Roan Ladley, were our boys U 11, Roan and Oisin got on very in the long jump and toget her were second team and are now qualify for National children games in Tullamore.

Rory, Matthew and Ben all ran very well in the 60m, and the boys in 600m , Oisin,Matthew and Ben left it all on the track, coming home in 10,11,and 14 place. Boys also came 4th in the relay. Well done Boys.

Our U 12 Boys were Lorcan Boyce and Oisin Mc Bride, both boys performed really well, Oisin got his day off to a great start with a bronze medal in his 60m and one better in the 600m missing out on gold by .001 of a second. Oisin will now qualify for the Nationals in July. Lorcan had a very good jump in his long jump and both boys were members of the U13 relay team who came 3rd.

Lilla Gerwatowska was our only girl U13, who ran very well in her 600m and is improving all the time.

Last but by no way least our U13 boys couldn’t let the younger ones get all the medals, Jerry Coyle  and Ciaron Cooney had super jumps in the long jump coming home in 1st Jerry crowned Ulster Champion and followed closely by Ciaron in 3rd place both boys had fine runs in the 600m. Dylan Finnegan competed well in both hid long jump and 80m and Odhran had a impressive 600.

The race of the day for these boys was the relay  were it all came together on the day and they ran out bronze medal winners. Team was Odhran Mc Groddy,Ciaron Cooney, Dylan Finnegan, Lorcan Boyce, Jerry Coyle and Oisin Mc Bride.

Great day for Cranford.

A Huge congratulations to Oisin Kelly who won the  National senior boys 800m in Tullamore last weekend. Oisin  was 5th with 200m to go and with his famous sprint finish he didn’t fail to deliver crossing the line in first position.

well done to Amy Cullen, Aoife Giles and Caolan   Mc Fadden  who also competed very well at the All Ireland secondary schools in Tullamore.

Aoife didn’t take a rest for the bank holiday  she went straight into the senior Donegal championships in FV, Aoife had a great day with a new PB in shot putt with a throw of 10.23 and a silver in medal in both shot and Discus. Well done Aoife.

We now look forward to the Ulsters this weekend in Antrim Forum where the U14 to U19 will battle it out for places in the upcoming National championships.

Good luck to all our Athletes doing exams especially Aoife  Giles and Teresa Mullen doing their leaving, Miah, Jessica, Amy, and Clodagh doing their junior cert.
