Three of our finest athletes travelled to the home of Tullamore Harriers to compete in the National Juvenile Championships Track and Field eventsOur athletes showed that they can compete with the best in Ireland, first up was Caolan Mc Fadden in the long jump and while Caolan had a very good jump of 3.94m he didn’t jump his best on the day but enjoyed the event and gained some great experience which will stand to him in further competition.
Next up was the duo of Cliodhna Mc Bride and Karen Neely, the girls ran in the 500m U10 – this is a team event where the girls times are added together. Both girls ran very well and got new Pb’s knocking seconds off their times ending up in 10th place in Ireland well done girls – ones to watch in the future.
A great day for these young athletes and great experience to be competing against the best in Ireland.
Thanks as always to coaches and parents who travelled and helped out on the day.
Next up is the inter county club Relays and Bs which will be held in Tullamore on Saturday 7th July Good luck to all our athletes who will be competing.
