Cranford AC Notes.

Last Friday evening Cranford athletes travelled to FV  to compete in the Little Athletes Competition. It was a lovely dry evening and their was no shortage of medals.

Sadhbh Mc Bride was the first to win a medal for Cranford in the 60m U7 Girls. Well done one to watch in the future.

Sarah Coyle was our only U9 girl she had good throw in her Turbo Javelin and was very unfortunate to have a fall in her 60m.

Cody Coyle had a great evening with a Gold in both the long Jump and the 60m U9.

Faolan Caldwell was in great form with a new PB  and a silver medal in his long Jump of 3.20m and a fine run in the 400m  winning a bronze U10.

Oisin Giles was unlucky not to medal in the long jump with a good jump of 3m and he was joint 3rd but on count back he finished 4th place well done Oisin.

Matthew Giles also added a medal to his collection with a fine performance in the U11  60m with a bronze medal and a gutsy run in the 500m.

Oisin Mc Bride got his evening of to a good start with a silver medal in his 60m sprint but was unfortunate to fall at the start of his 600m and took him a while to get back up  with the leaders, he showed great determination to finish out the race.

Jerry Coyle continues his good form with a Gold in his long Jump, 60m and 2nd in the 600m great evening‘s work.

Karen Neely was in good form getting into the final of the 60m sprint this is a new event for Karen.

Darragh Mc Hugh had a good evening also with two silver medals, Darragh got a silver in his 60m and a silver in his  600m, it was a very competitive race as any of the top three could have won it and was a great race to watch for the spectators.

Thanks to all the coaches and parents who travelled and helped out on the evening.

Oisin Kelly made the trip to Mary Peters Track to compete in the Belfast Milers Meet on Saturday afternoon, Oisin got his season off to a great start with a new PB  of 1:52.21 in the 800m, Oisin finishing his race in second place. Well done Oisin.

On Friday evening the Children Games U 9,10, and 11 will be held in FV.

Best of luck to our younger athletes.

On Saturday our secondary School athletes, Aoife Giles, Oisin Kelly, Amy Cullen, Miah Fletcher, Orla Neely and Caolan Mc Fadden travel to Antrim Forum to compete in the Ulster schools, these athletes have qualified from the district to represent their school Loreto Community  School Milford. Good luck
