Well done to all the Cranford Juvenile Athletes who travelled to Lifford to compete in the Donegal Championships on Saturday the 10th May, on what was another very wet day in Lifford. First out representing the club in the U12 girls were Clodagh Friel, Lisa Dougera and Marcella Dolan who all competed very well in their events with Lisa claiming 3rd in the shot putt with a throw of 5.8o. Killian Browne and Allan Neely were our U12 boys, both proudly representing the club with Killian claiming gold in the turbo javelin throwing 17.75 and Bronze in the 600mts. Allan was back in form with a great run in the 600mts taking silver.
Molly Trearty performed great in the U13 Girls 800mts coming home in 2nd place. Our U13 Boys representing Cranford were Eoin Moore and Dylan Dorrian. Eoin had a impressive throw of 27.3 in the javelin claiming a well deserved gold, closely followed by Dylan coming 2nd with a silver medal. Dylan had a leap of 4.26 in the long jump claiming gold and he was also first over the line in the 60m Hurdles. A great day out for both lads.
Laura Dugera and Thea Duffy were representing our U14 girls from the club. Both girls done very well with Laura getting Gold in the javelin throwing 18.85 and 3rd in the shot putt. Thea had a good run in the 80mts sprint crossing the line in 3rd and 2nd in the javelin with a throw of 18.04. Eleanor Trearty representing our U16 Girls, compeated in the 800mts, the javelin and the long jump, taking home an impressive 3 medals with a silver in the 800mts, a bronze in both the javelin and long jump. Well done Eleanor .
