Cranford AC held 2019 presentation evening last Friday

 

Cranford club held a belated 2019 presentation evening which had been postponed a number of times due to the Covid 19 restrictions.  The club decided to hold a celebratory cavalcade to celebrate the recent success at National and International level for club members, followed by a BBQ for families and athletes, and culminating in the 2019 Presentation evening.

The evening was a great success, the club had the opportunity to thank the many sponsors and contributors who help to make the club so successful.  Eamon Giles Club chairman specifically thanked Frank Casey for his continued support with the use of the much appreciated training ground, Danny Lafferty and family of Creeslough Supermarket for continued sponsorship of the club and Seamus Kelly for his support.  

Bernie Callaghan from Donegal Athletics was the special guest who spoke about his respect for Eamon and how successful Cranford Club members have been this year and throughout the years.  Bernie presented the awards to the athletes for their 2019 Achievement Awards.

Appreciation awards were presented to the many volunteers who contribute tirelessly behind the scenes:

Danny Lafferty, Annette Lafferty, Claire Neely, Tara Fletcher, Sinead Giles, Shauna Giles, Frank Casey, Rosie Coyle, Francis Diver, Teri McFadden , Jerry Gallagher, Rose Gavaghan.

And finally Club person of the year award was presented to Ernie McElhinney for his consistent support at events, coaching and as club treasurer.

 

We are now looking forward to the start of the cross countryseason with the first event next weekend (26th) in Finn Valley followed by the Donegal Championships on consecutive weekends, we would like to thank all the parents and families for their continued support in bringing athletes to training sessions and travelling to events.  We hope this season will prove successful for all our athletes and they continue to enjoy training with Cranford AC.

Training continues each Tuesday and Thursday evening and the beautiful mornings at Cranford Park on a Sunday at 11am.

The club hope to hold the 2020 presentation in the upcoming season.
