Last weekend saw Christopher Murray compete in the senior men’s 800m on Saturday in the Ulster Track and Field championships where he had a good strong race. On Sunday it was the turn of our U14 athletes. First up in the javelin was Eoghan Moore and Dylan Dorrian. After some great throwing Eoghan was declared the bronze medal winner with Dylan in 4th place and both boys now will travel to Tullamore in July to compete in the Nationals. Hannah Logue was up next in long jump with Hannah jumping well. She also ran well in the 200m. Molly Trearty was our only girl in the 800m and after getting off to a great start was unable to stick the pace in what turned out to be a very fast race. Molly also competed in the javelin and after some great throwing just missed out on qualifying for the Nationals coming in 5th place. Dylan also ran very well in the 800m but again failed to qualify. Our last competitor of the day was Eoin Logue in the 200m final with Eoin running very well. Thanks to coaches Eamon Giles and Rose Gavaghan who travelled with the athletes for all their help and to the parents for their support. Good luck To Kevin Logue who competes next week in the U16/U17 Ulster Championships.
