successes for Cranford AC at Carndonagh

County Individual Titles and 1 Team Title For Cranford AC.

 

 

First up for Cranford AC was our team of U8 boys who ran over the twisting track In Carndonagh, these boys put in fine performances to finish well up in this large field of athletes. Bobby Brown came storming home in 5th place closely followed by Finn Sweeney (15). Great running by these boys.
Cadhla Coyle (20) had her first run out today on the cross country scene, Cadhla had a great race in the U10 girls over the 1000m and will gain lots from her experience today.
Cranford had a strong team entered in the U10 boys event who worked well as a team to earn themselves silver team medals. The boys all put in fabulous performances with well deserved silver medal positions.
Oisin Mc Hugh had a great race and lead from the start finishing strongly to earn his gold medal and Donegal Champion, leading his team home, Matthew Giles followed closely behind finishing 7th place, Charlie Rogers (15), Faolan Caldwell (20), Ben Mc Gee (21), Rory Boyce (22), Oisin Giles (23), Seamus Mc Closkey (26) such a talented team with so much more to give in the upcoming season.
U12 boys had a challenging run over 1500m of the twisting course, Cranford had 6 boys line up for this event and every boy put in a huge effort to finish in this large field of competitors, well done to each member of this team Oisin Mc bride (7), Jerry Coyle (21), Odhran Mc Groddy (29), Caoimhin Coyle (37), Dylan Finnegan (41), Lorcan Boyce (43). These boys just missed out on medal position combing 4th team.
 
Cliodhna McBride (21) again fresh from Community games in her first cross country run out today over 1500m, Cliodhna had a good run today.
U14 boys ran well over their 2500m event again a strong team performance today from these boys, Daragh Mc Hugh (18) had a good finish followed closely by, Killian Caldwell (21) and Diarmuid Gallagher (26).
U16 girls Donegal County Champions finishing with Gold medals.
U16 girls had a tough run over this 3000m track, again putting in a fine team performance supporting each other throughout. First home for the team was Miah Fletcher earning herself the title Donegal U16 champion, Miah was followed closely by Clodagh Neely (5 ) who ran well finishing with a strong sprint, Ellie Mc Fadden (12) was next in the team, Ellie fresh from competing at the Community games, enjoying her first cross country run out again demonstrating her great sprinting talent. Jessica Cullen (15) ran a steady race over the 3k and Blathnaid Gallagher (19) completed these gold medal team performance.
 
Orla Neely had a steady run over the 3000m in the U18 Donegal girls championship, Orla had a great run to finish 6th overall.
The final event of the day saw Oisin Kelly and Oran Mcmenamin run consistently well over this challenging 5km, Oisin held his lead well throughout and claimed the Donegal title and Oran followed closely in 4th place.
 
Thanks to all the parents who travelled and helped out on the day, a special word of thanks to all the coaches. We now look forward to the uneven age groups in Letterkenny on Saturday.
