McFadden does  the Double  All Ireland Champion

While the sun shone in Donegal.

The rain and wind in Tullamore didn’t dampen the performance  of Cranford AC athletes on the 4th day of the 2021 Irish Life Juvenile Track and Field Championship.

Caolan Mc Fadden was in great form and coming off his success of last weekend, he was back to run in the 1500m, and run he did, Caolan didn’t have a easy race, it was a battle from start to finish and coming down the home street it could have been any one race with the leader changing 3 time with Caolan winning out and with another Gold National medal.

It completes the double for this young man, what a great end to a great track and field season.

Aoife Giles was up next in the shot put, Aoife is just coming back from injury and was unable to compete in her Javelin or Discus as she was saving herself for her shot put.

Aoife didn’t get off to a great start and was laying in 5th position overall with one throw left and with the determination and grit we are used to from Aoife, she got behind the shot and with a great throw of 11.18m gained herself a bronze  all Ireland medal. Well done Aoife.

Oisin Kelly was up next in the 1500m final which was another competitive race, Oisin got off to a good start and had a good strong race finishing in 7th position overall. This is the end of a very successful season for Oisin. The highlight representing Ireland in an international meet in Paris earlier this month.

Well done to all our athletes who competed over the last two weekends a well earned rest now for them.

Thanks to all the parents and coaches who travelled and supported our athletes.

We would like to wish our juvenile athletes who make the trip to Tullamore this weekend to compete in the children Games National Championships
