Cranford AC perform well at Ulster’s.

Another great weekend for Cranford AC Athletes at  the Ulsters. Three of our talented Athletes travelled to Mary Peters Track to compete in the U14-U18 Ulster championships.

Aoife Giles was up first in the Girls U14 shot put. Aoife had a great throw of 11.65m getting a silver medal, missing out on Gold by 1cm. Aoife then went on to throw the Javelin and  had a great throw of 23.93m winning Gold and claiming the Ulster title.

Oisin Kelly had a great day with a 3rd place in the long jump U14 jumping 4.69m and went on to run a great 800m staying in touch with the leading group  throughout the race and with 100m left he went for home winning by over 2 seconds and getting a new PB.

Eoghan Moore kept the medals coming with a 3rd place in the Javelin throwing 34.51m.

Well done to these Athletes and thanks to coaches Eamon Giles, Ernie McElhinney, Joe Boyce, Rose Gavaghan and Bridie Trearty and to the parents who travelled on the day.

Good luck to our 6 young Athletes who travel to Tullamore this weekend to compete in the National Children’s Games, Karen Neely, Tara McGarvey, Michael Moore, Daithi Cannon, Caolan McFadden and Dean Hewitson.
