Cranford AC Notes

Cranford had 3 Athletes travel to the Finn Valley centre to compete in the Ulster open Throws Competition where athletes from all over Ireland came to compete and where the cream of the talent were today. It was great to have such a competition in the county. The sun was out and perfect conditions for this event. Orla Neely has a busy day competed in the Girls U16 Shot, Javelin and Discus which is a new event for her, and getting on well in all three events events and gaining some great experience. Clodagh Neely performed well in the Girls U16 javelin finishing well up the field. Aoife Giles put in many fine performances starting off with the shot in the morning, and taking the bronze place medal, Aoife went on to the Discus then throwing over 25m a great throw getting another bronze, Aoife’s final event was the javelin and did not disappoint getting a silver medal.Good day’s work from these three girls. This event brings the end to a successful Track & Field 2020 season, for Cranford. We will now look forward to the Cross Country season ahead. Thanks to all the coaches and parents for their continued support and to the Athletes who train and put in the hard work.
