Miah Fletcher got off to a flying start in the u10 girls and kept pace throughout the very fast race to come home in 2nd place winning a silver medal. Perfect Cross Country conditions in Trialough, Fanad for Cranford AC All roads lead to Fanad on Sunday for the Donegal uneven age Cross Country Championships on what was a glorious day on an even better Cross country track. Well done and thanks to Milford AC for hosting such an excellent event. First up for Cranford were the u9 girls of Karen Neely and Lucy McGarvey. Both girls had a great race with Lucy coming home in 6th place earning herself a medal. Great start to Cross Country Season for Cranford AC On what was a beautiful sunny day the Cross Country season got underway in Stranolar for the first of the Donegal Cross Country Championships. First up and showing the younger athletes how it's done was the legend that is Bridie Trearty running in the Masters race. Bridie had an outstanding race and came home in a very impressive 6th place overall and 1st in her age category.   Tommy McBride Juvenile races 2016 On a lovely bright sunny evening there was a good turn out for the annual Tommy McBride juvenile races. First up was the u9 boys race which was won by Michael Moore of Cranford AC followed closely by Seth Campbell from Foyle Valley AC and Charlie Heraghty in third place. Karen Neely from Cranford AC won the u9 girls race.  In the u11 boys race Aiden McFadden from Cranford AC took gold followed by Christian Campbell from Foyle Vally AC in 2nd place.   Cranford AC Notes We had 3 of our young talented athletes travel to Tullamore last weekend to compete in the Glo Health National Championships. These young Athletes did everyone very proud competing against the best in Ireland.   First up was Liam Donnelly in the  boys U/13 Long jump who found himself in good form and was  unlucky not to make the final 8. Aoife Giles was up next  in the Javelin and keeping up her good form this season, she has proven once again she is one of the best in the country in her events with a great 5th finish throwi ... read more..

Cranford AC Notes Four of Cranford AC talented young Athletes made the long journey to Tullamore, to compete in the National Children Games, these athletes had to Qualify out of Ulster to compete in this  team event. First up was Michael Moore and Diarmuid Gallagher in the boys U/9 300m,  this was these boys first ever All Ireland's and rose to the occasion having a great run finishing in the middle of the field. Next up was Caolan MC Fadden and Ryan MC Menamin these boys ran their hearts out just missing out on a third place medal by less than half a second. Well done to both teams and ... read more..

  Cranford AC Notes. Another busy week for Cranford AC with Day 2 of the open meet in Derry and the Ulster's at Mary Peters Track in Belfast. Day 2 of Derry open meet, on a cool cloudy evening Cranford AC took to the track again. First up was u 14 long jump with Max Roarty taking home sliver and Johnny Trearty, Cian McMenamin  and Conor Neely competing well. We had Caoimhe Neely in the girls long jump, jumping well. Cranfords U14/15's day at Mary Peters Track, Belfast Saturday last saw 4 of Cranford AC's young athletes travel to the Mary Peters Track in Belfast. First up was Killian Browne and Allan Neely in the shot putt.  Killian had a good throw of 6.40m and Allan got a pb with a fine throw of 7.24m getting 6th place. Molly was up next in the u15 girls javelin where she threw 17.28m and was 5th place overall. In the u14 boys javelin Killian Browne threw over 21m to also come home in 5th place.
