Sunday last saw another successful group of Cranford athletes take part in the Donegal Cross Country Uneven ages in Castlefin. In great running conditions the first of our athletes were the U 9 girls who got us off to a great start with Clodagh  Neely, Blathnaid Gallagher and Saoirse O'Hara all having fine runs.The U 9 boys were next with Keelin Mc Fadden having a great run in 2nd place, followed by Ryan Mc Menamin in 8th and Michael Moore 18th. Sunday last saw a strong group of Cranford AC athletes take part in the Donegal Cross Country Even ages in Magheragallon, Gweedore. In windy conditions our U 8 girls were represented by Saoirse O'Hara and our boys were very impressive with Ryan Mc Menamin powering home in 1st place and Michael Moore coming 8th. Next off were the U 10 girls who were lead home by Nazara Mc Fadden in 8th place,followed by Ciara Donnelly,Annie Mc Groddy,Caoimhe Neely,Orla Neely,Caoimhe Browne and Blathnaid Gallagher. Our young Athletes u/9 10 and 11 took the  long journey to Tullamore last weekend to compete in the National Children Games, where we had 8 athletes competing. Blaithnaid Gallagher and Clodagh Neely our u/9 team put in two very fine performances in the Turbo Javeline finishing an  admirable 7th team overall well done Girls. Our u/10 Boys  were Cian Mc Menamin  who partnered Max Roarty in both the Long Jump and the 5oom, both boys had very good jumps with Cian posting a personal best in the Long Jump, the boys finishing  in 7th place overall. We had 3 athletes travel to Antrim last Saturday to compete in the Ulster's, first to take to the track was Kevin Logue who took part in the 15oom and had a good strong race finishing in the middle of the field this was Kevin's first Ulsters. Eleanor Trearty took part in the long jump finishing in 7th place this was a good result for her.
