  Cranford AC Notes. Another busy week for Cranford AC with Day 2 of the open meet in Derry and the Ulster's at Mary Peters Track in Belfast. Day 2 of Derry open meet, on a cool cloudy evening Cranford AC took to the track again. First up was u 14 long jump with Max Roarty taking home sliver and Johnny Trearty, Cian McMenamin  and Conor Neely competing well. We had Caoimhe Neely in the girls long jump, jumping well. Cranfords U14/15's day at Mary Peters Track, Belfast Saturday last saw 4 of Cranford AC's young athletes travel to the Mary Peters Track in Belfast. First up was Killian Browne and Allan Neely in the shot putt.  Killian had a good throw of 6.40m and Allan got a pb with a fine throw of 7.24m getting 6th place. Molly was up next in the u15 girls javelin where she threw 17.28m and was 5th place overall. In the u14 boys javelin Killian Browne threw over 21m to also come home in 5th place.   Cranford AC had a busy weekend at the Ulsters On what was a busy weekend for our juvenile athletes with the Ulster Children Games on Saturday and Under 12 and 13 ages in Finn Valley on Sunday. [caption id="attachment_1842" align="aligncenter" width="224"] Oisin Kelly recieving his Gold medal for the 600m[/caption] Lifford was the venue for the 2016 Ulster Children's Games. Cranford AC perform well at Donegal track and field championships Thursday last saw Cranford make the short trip to the Danny McDaid Track in Letterkenny for the U12-U18 Donegal track and field championships. First up were the Under 12 girls of Caoimhe Browne, Ciara Donnelly, Teresa Mullen, Orla Neely, Caoimhe Neely and Nazara McFadden with all the girls performing well.  Nazara and Teresa both ran very well in the 80m sprint with Teresa making it through to the final and just missed out on a medal.   Cranford AC Notes. Cranford AC travelled to Derry to compete in The Paddy O Donnell Track and Field Memorial Open Meet. It was a very mixed day weather wise with all seasons rolled into one. Our under 9's were in fine form with Michael Moore picking up medals in all 4 events, 60m, 300m, long jump and turbo javelin. Diarmuid Gallagher and Caolan Caldwell also done well in their events. In the girls u/11 Clodagh Neely had a great turbo javelin winning a gold medal with a throw of 9.87m. Cranford AC do Well at Donegal Children Games. We had  eight off  our young athletes travel to FV to compete in the Donegal Children's  Games. First up was our U/9  boys with Diarmuid Gallagher and Michael Moore, Diarmuid had a good run in the 300m and a fine jump in his long jump. Michael had  a great jump getting 2nd place and also taking bronze in the 60m sprint. Well done boys keep up the good work.   Good night for our 'Little Athletes' at Finn Valley Tuesday night saw our young athletes make the short journey to Finn Valley for their annual little athletes competition. Our U8 athletes competed in various events with Karen Neely having a great run in the 60m sprint where she made it to the final and James McDaid and Killian Caulfield also competing well in the 60m sprint and 300m. Cranford AC duo take Gold and Silver at the National Indoor Championships in Athlone Four of Cranford AC's finest young athletes travelled to Athlone last weekend to compete in the National Indoor Championships. First up on Saturday morning was Max Roarty who competed in the boys U/12 long jump, with a fine performance just missing out on the last 8. Next up was Aoife Giles  in the girls U/13 shot putt, with a outstanding throw of 10m 26cm and getting a new Pb claimed a national silver medal. Well done Aoife.
