What’s Happening...

Sunday morning saw a good crowd of Cranford athletes travel to the Templemore Stadium in Derry to take part in the Olympian AC Winter Track and Field Open Competition. First up was the U9 boys which saw Cranford get off to a great start in the 60 metres race with Caolan McFadden winning gold and Ryan McMenamim winning bronze. In the 300 metres Caolan won his second gold medal of the day with Ryan winning a silver medal. In the U11 girls 60 metre race it was Nazara McFadden who won gold for Cranford with Caoimhe Browne coming in 5th position. Nazara had a great day winning another gold ... read more..

Cranford Ac Presentation Night - Beach Hotel, Downings   Myles Gallagher was MC for the night.   Certificates of achievement were presented to all athletes by Rose Gavigan, Ernie McElhinney, Anne O'Brien, Joe Boyce, Shauna Giles and Claire Neely.   Special presentations were then made by Ian Mcgarvey to Orla Neely for best attender at training. Most improved athlete Caolan Mcfadden. Bronagh Gallagher, Grace Trearty and Niamh Kelly were presented with achievement awards for being part of the u18 Donegal team who won Bronze medals at the National Cross Country ... read more..
Cranford AC Boxing Day Run A great turn out on a bright Boxing Day afternoon saw some great running taking place in Cranford Park for the Bill Hunter and Winifred Gallagher Memorial races. First up was the u7-u9 race where all the young athletes had a great run with Clodagh Neely coming home in first place followed by Michael Moore in 2nd and Ryan McMenamin in 3rd. Next up was the juvenile race which was won by Cian McMenamin followed by Oisin Kelly in 2nd place and Max Roarty in 3rd. It was the seniors race next with over 40 competitors taking part. CRANFORD AC CHRISTMAS DRAW

  Last Friday Cranford AC held their very successful Christmas Draw in the Beach Hotel in Downings. The night started with a cavalcade with members of Cranford AC assembling in Kilmacrennan to escort our All Ireland Champion Oisin Kelly and all the other National Medal Winners to the Beach Hotel. The MC for the night was Joe Boyce and he welcomed everyone to the Beach Hotel before handing over the floor to Eamon Giles who thanked everyone for coming and congratulated the athletes on a very successful year culminating in 26 National medals ... read more..
OISIN KELLY OF CRANFORD AC WINS GOLD AT NATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS Last Sunday Cranford athletes competed at the National Inter Counties and Juvenile Cross Country Championships in Santry. On a good course in bright sunshine the Cranford athletes had a great start to the day when Oisin Kelly came home in first place to claim the National title in the u11 boys race.  Oisin has been brilliant all year winning gold medals at the Donegal and Ulster Championships so this was the icing on the cake for Oisin to become an All Ireland Champion.  Oisin was closely followed by Liam Donnel ... read more..
Sunday saw a group of qualifying Cranford athletes travel to Dundalk to take part in the Even Age All Ireland Cross Country. On a fairly flat course but  with very muddy conditions the Cranford athletes got off to a great start with the star of the day Oisin Kelly running out of his age group in the U12 event.  Oisin had a brilliant race and came home in 9th position winning him a National medal.  This is a great achievement for Oisin so well done to him.  Oisin was followed home by Liam Donnelly and Allan Neely who both had good strong runs.  Next up for Cranford was the u14 girl’s w ... read more..
Sunday last saw a large group of Cranford athletes travel to Cavan to participate in the Ulster Cross Country uneven ages.The first group out were the U-11 girls, who had some good performances with Nazara Mc Fadden finishing 22nd, Caitlin O'Hara 33rd, followed by Annie Mc Groddy, Ciara Donneely, Aoife Giles, Caoimhe Neely and Orla Neely. The U 11 boys saw Cranford's Oisín Kelly take an impressive lead from the start of the race to claim his Ulster gold medal. Saturday last saw Cranford Athletic Club travel to Jordanstown Belfast, to participate in the Ulster Cross Country Even Age Groups. On what was a blustery day, Cranford had some fine individual and team performances. Starting the day for Cranford were our u/10 girls with some very fine running, Nazara Mc Fadden led the girls home in 7th place followed by Annie mc Groddy, Caoimhe Neely,Ciara Donnelly,Orla Neely and Caoimhe Browne.
