Cranford AC at Ulster Track and Field Championships On what was perfect conditions for running Cranford AC travelled to Lifford to compete in the Ulster children games under 9, 10 and 11. We had 14 athletes who all had great performances, some who were performing for their first time in competition. We got off to a great start with our boys under 9 Caolan McFadden and Ryan McMenamin, both boys performing very well. Cranford AC compete at Donegal Juvenile T&F Champions in Lifford Last Sunday saw the U12-U18 athletes travel to Lifford to compete in the Donegal Championships on what turned out to be a very wet and miserable day. In the U12 girls Aoife Giles continued her winning streak by claiming gold in shot put and silver in the turbo javelin with Orla Neely also throwing well in the shot put. In the U12 Boys Oisin Kelly won gold medals in the 60m, 600m and Long Jump, Liam Donnelly won silver in the 60m, Long Jump and shot put and bronze in the 600m and Oran McMenamim had a brilliant run in the ... read more..

On what was a very wet and cold evening Cranford made the journey to Finn Valley in Stranolar. Our u/9 boys were up first with fine performances from both boys with Caolan McFadden taking home 3 golds and 1 bronze and Ryan McMenamim winning 3 silver medals so well done boys. Our u/10 girls were Blathnaid Gallagher and Clodagh Neely. Blathnaid came 2nd in the turbo javelin with a great throw of 8.20. Both girls ran a good 500m. Cranford only had one competitor in the second weekend of the indoor championships, which was held  in Athlone. Dylan Dorrian, his first event was the hurdles u/14 60m, which he had a tumble on the last hurdle clipping the top of it. Two gold Medals for Cranford at Juvenile Indoor Championships in Athlone   Sunday last was another great day for Cranford AC.   First up was Oisin Kelly and Liam Donnelly in the u12 long jump, both having great jumps with Oisin unlucky to miss out on a medal finishing in 4th place with a great jump of 4.30 metres and Liam jumping 3.89 metres.   Next up was Aoife Giles in the u12 girls shot put where Aoife put in an outstanding performance which earned her a gold medal and the All Ireland Champion title with a throw of 8.26 metres.
