Subject: Cranford Ac Notes.
Cranford bring home Nationals medals.

Sunday last saw 11 of our young athletes make the long journey to Waterford for the Juvenile Uneven Age Cross Country Championships. These juvenile athletes had to qualify out of Ulster to compete at this event.

First up in the u11 girls race was Miah Fletcher who had a superb race and kept with the lead pack throughout the 1500m course to come home in an excellent 6th position earning herself an individual medal. She was also part of the Donegal team that won Silver and the Bronze winning Ulster team.

Caolan McFadden was up next in the u11 boys race. Caolan once again got off to a great start and stayed in contention for the whole race and after a brilliant run to the finish came home in an amazing 3rd place winning a well deserved Bronze medal. He was also part of the Silver winning County and Ulster teams. This finishes off a great cross country season for Caolan where he has won numerous medals both in and out of his age group. Caolan was well supported by his teammates Michael Moore, Ryan McMenamin, Dean Hewitson and Diarmuid Gallagher.

Next up was our u13 boys of Cian McMenamin, Aidan McFadden and Martin Dugera. The boys all ran very well over the tough 2500m courses all finishing well up the field.

Caitlin O’Hara was our only girl competing today in the u15 girls race. Caitlin had a great run and had a strong finish to come home in a good position.

Our last runner of the day was Oisin Kelly who competed in the u15 boys race. This was a very competitive race with nearly 140 runners and with Oisin able to compete in this age group again next he had a good run to finish well up the field. He was also part of the Donegal team that won Silver team medals.

Bridie Trearty competed in the North West Cross Country race in Grantham, Derry on Saturday last coming home in a brilliant 2nd place in her age category.
