imageCranford AC make long journey to National Cross Country Championships in Dungarvan

Cranford AC travelled to Dungarvan, Co Waterford on Sunday 6th December on what turned out to be ideal running conditions for the National Uneven Age Cross Country Championships after the torrential rain the day before.

Nazara McFadden was our only u11 girl in the first race of the day. Nazara had a good solid run and finished well up the field and there’s definitely more to come from this young girl.

Next up was our u11 boys with Max Roarty having a great run to finish in 17th position out of 161 runners which earned him a well deserved bronze Ulster team medal with Cian McMenamim in 39th place and Conor Neely, Caolan Curran and Aiden McFadden all putting in strong performances and the boys were unlucky not to come home with team medals coming 4th team overall so well done boys.

Oisin Kelly running out of his age was our only u13 boy and after a gutsy performance Oisin had a excellent finish to come home in 15th position which helped Donegal and Ulster to win gold team medals.

Molly Trearty and Hannah Logue were up next in the u15 girls race with both girls running out of their age. The girls put in excellent performances over the tough 3500 metre course and after a great run Molly came home in an impressive 43rd position with Hannah finishing further up the field.

In the u15 boys race Eoin Logue also running out of his age ran very well and finished well up the field in what was a very fast race with a large entry of runners.

In the u17 boys race Kevin Logue continued his impressive form and after an excellent run on what was by now a very sticky course finished in 25th place with Eoin Kelly also running very well and after a strong finish came home in 60th position.

Thanks to the coaches Eamon Giles, Rose Gavaghan, Bridie Trearty, Joe Boyce and Ernie McElhinney for all their hard work and support throughout the year and to all the parents who travelled to Dungarvan for the weekend.
