Cranford A.C. had a very successful trip to the All Ireland Cross Country (uneven ages) in Wexford last weekend. The club returned with thirteen medals which is a great achievement for a small club at this level. The U-11 boys had a very successful race, earning them 2nd place silver medals in the team event. In good running conditions in Adamstown, Co. Wexford, the boys team were lead home with a very impressive run by Johnny Mc Groddy, finishing 10th. This performance earned Johnny four medals – individual, team 2nd, county team 2nd and 3rd on the Inter Provincial team. His running mates also had excellent runs with Conor Black 20th, Stephen Black 25th, Dylan Dorrian 42nd, with Eoghan Moore and Martin Mc Garvey also finishing strongly. This performance earned all the boys silver team medals, with Conor and Stephen also picking up county team and Inter Provincial team medals. Well done boys on an excellent performance.

CRANFORD A.C. WIN SILVER AT ALL IRELAND

Molly Trearty represented the club very well on the U-11 girls Ulster and county team and gained great experience in her first All Ireland outing. In the U-15 boys Eoin Kelly had a very good run out of his age group and finished well up the field. Lucy Backus, the clubs only senior girl, was very unfortunate to miss out on a medal finishing in 13th position. It was a great individual performance from this very dedicated athlete. Well done and congratulations to all athletes, parents and trainers who travelled to this event. A reminder to all club members that all cards for the Christmas Hamper Draw must be returned to any Draw Committee member at training on Thurs evening. The Christmas Hamper Draw will take place in the Beach Hotel, this Fri 14th Dec 9p.m.
