Sunday last saw a strong group of Cranford AC athletes take part in the Donegal Cross
Country Even ages in Magheragallon, Gweedore. In windy conditions our U 8 girls
were represented by Saoirse O’Hara and our boys were very impressive with Ryan
Mc Menamin powering home in 1st place and Michael Moore coming 8th.
Next off
were the U 10 girls who were lead home by Nazara Mc Fadden in 8th place,followed
by Ciara Donnelly,Annie Mc Groddy,Caoimhe Neely,Orla Neely,Caoimhe Browne and
Blathnaid Gallagher.
The U 10 boys brought home the first team medals of the
day when they came in first team in gold medal position. Great running from Max
Roarty 2nd, Cian Mc Menamin 3rd, Keelin Mc Fadden 11, Conor Neely and Ben Fox.
Well done boys.
Our U 12 girls were well represented by Marcella Dolan,
Caitlin O’Hara, Clodagh Friel and Aoife Giles.
The U 12 boys again produced a
fine performance and more gold medals for Cranford when they won first place in
the team event. Oisín Kelly finished an impressive 1st place, followed by Liam
Donnelly 4th, Allan Neely 10th, Oran Mc Menamin, Johnny Trearty and Cillian
Browne.
The U 14 girls had another fine team performance coming in second in
the team event. Silver medals for Molly Trearty 2nd, Rionach Giles 11th,
Michelle Mc Devitt 17th and Hannah Logue 24th.
The U 14 boys saw Johnny Mc
Groddy run a fine race coming second to recieve his silver medal. He was well
supported by Owen Moore, Owen Logue and Barry Donnelly.
The U 16 girls had a
good performance from Julie Trearty,Niamh Mc Devitt and Ciara
Murray.
Newcomer Kevin Logue impressed finishing 4th in the boys U 16,
followed by Eoin Kelly 11th.
The last medals of the day were brought home by
our U 18 girls with a fine race from Niamh Kelly 5th, followed by sisters Grace
Trearty, Eleanor Trearty and Brónach Gallagher, who recieved silver medals
finishing second in the team event.
