Sunday 14th Oct saw a big turnout of athletes in Killybegs for the Donegal uneven age Cross Country event. Cranford A.C. got off to a very promising start with the U-9 girls and boys. The U-9 girls ran very well with Aoife Giles 12th, Ciara Donnelly 13th, Caoimhe Browne 20th and Orla Neely 24th. The boys had a great result in this age group with young Oisín Kelly coming 1st, Liam Donnelly 2nd, Martin Dugera 10th and Cian,Oran and Ryan Mc Memamin coming in strongly in the middle of the field. What a great result to claim gold and silver in this event!

Equally impressive were the girls and boys U-11. The girls gave a solid performance with Lisa Dugera, Aobha Gallagher and Cloidhna Mc Cotter-kelly all coming in around the 20th positions. The U-11 boys had a great result with Stephen Black 2nd, Conor Black 3rd, Eoghan Moore 16th,Martin McGarvey 17th and strongly followed home by Allan Neely, Killian Browne and Barry Donneely. Well done boys in securing team bronze medals for Cranford in this event.

aviva stadium 050The U-13 girls performed well with Anna Mc Fadden 16th, Rionach Giles 17th, Aoibhinn Lynch 21st, Niamh Mc Devitt 23rd followed home by Thea Duffy and Laura Dugera. The only U-13 boy Rónán Gallagher ran a good race coming in 17th.

The U-15 girls were represented by Áine Green and Ciara Murray coming in 24th and 25th. Eoin Kelly the only U-15 boy ran a great race coming in 6th place.

The U-17 girls gave a great performance with Niamh Kelly collecting the silver medal in 2nd place and Brónach Gallagher coming in 4th.

And Roisín Boyce collected gold for the club in the U-18 girls race. Well done Roisín and all the athletes who put in some fine performances. Many thanks to all involved and the Club A.G.M. is taking place this Fri 19th, Corncutters Rest, Creeslough at 8p.m.
