Sunday last saw the group of qualifying Cranford athletes take part in the All-Ireland Cross Country Even Age, in Santry, Dublin. In fine running conditions, the Cranford group were led off by Molly Trearty in the U-12 girls. Molly had a great run and finished 30th in a field of well over 100 runners. This was a fine performance in Molly’s first All-Ireland. Next out were the team of U-12 boys. Star of the day was Johnny Mc Groddy, who had an impressive run to finish 5th and win an individual medal.Johnny led the field at different stages of the race and well deserved his 5th place medal. He was followed strongly home by Conor Black,Stephen Black and Dylan Dorrian who were well up the field. Eoghan Moore and Martin Mc Garvey were the other two team members who had good steady runs. The boys finished 4th team and were just outside medal positions. The last Cranford athlete was Julie Trearty who had a good run in the U 14 girls. Well done to all who travelled and good luck in the forthcoming All-Irelands.Cranford A.C. at All-Ireland Cross CountryCranford A.C. at All-Ireland Cross CountryCranford A.C. at All-Ireland Cross Country
