Cranford AC Boxing Day Run.

A great turnout on what was a good day for runners, and spectators on the top of Cranford Park, we saw some great performances from young and old.
First up was the U/7 – U/9
Where all the young athletes had a great race, coming around the last bend it could have been anyone’s race with 5 fighting for the medals. Michael Moore with a strong finish, pipped it on the line to get Gold, followed closely by Harry Shields, Karen Neely, Dearmuid Gallagher and Eamon Giles.
Next up were were the U/9- U/10
With over 15 starting this race, which was won by Caolan mc Fadden with a great sprint finish, followed home by Ryan McMenamim , Caolan Curran, Clodagh Neely and Connor Neely.
Then it was the turn of the juveniles
Oisin Kelly had a fine performance coming from behind to take Gold, from Eoghan Moore, Oran McMenamim , and Molly Trearty.
Next up were the seniors, with the Bill Hunter and Winifred Gallagher Memorial races, young Kevin Logue led from the start with Michael Logue watching his every move, these two lads led the field for over 3 laps, and the race was on, going into the last lap, with Kevin proving too strong in the end and left Michael with 500m to go, in 3rd overall was Catherine Whoriskey with a great run looking very strong, Liam Doherty who finished very well in 4th place overall and 3rd in the senior men race.
