Three Ulster Titles for Cranford AC at the Ulster / NI indoor Championships. On what was a two day event the Ulster and Northern Ireland indoor Championship took place in Athlone. A early start on sat morning 6 of Cranford AC Athletes made the journey down to Athlone IT indoor arena. Teresa Mullen got the day off to a great start winning the Girls U14 long jump this is the second year that Teresa won this title Ulster champion in this event Teresa goes on now to the Nationals in March.     Cranford AC Notes DONEGAL ATHLETICS AWARDS 2017   A lovely evening was spent at the Finn Valley Centre last Friday night where 5 our athletes were honored at the Donegal Athletics Boards, the athletes were Aoife Giles, Miah Fletcher, Teresa Mullen, Caolan Mc Fadden and Oisin Kelly. Well done to all athletes and thank you to all the parents and coaches that travelled to share in this special night.   North West indoor Games Kids serve up a storm at Northwest Games! A brilliant initiative organised by Bernie O’Callaghan as a way to drawing down the curtain on 2017 saw Cranford Athletes take to the AIT Arena to blow off some Christmas cobwebs with over 400 hundred competitors and 34 clubs taking part. The day got off to a cracker with Caolan Mc Fadden claiming bronze in the u12 boys long Jump, Aidan McFadden and Oisin Mc Nulty both had good jumps in this event also.  On the outer track Caolan ran the 600m which was 3 laps of this track and Caolan led from the gun taking home ... read more..
  Cranford AC Boxing Day Run. Thanks to everyone who came out to support the Juvenile races and the Bill Hunter and Winifred Gallagher Memorial race. Congratulations to Michael McHugh who won the Bill Hunter cup and Bridie Trearty who won the Winifred Gallagher plaque. Well done also to Michael Logue who was 2nd senior man and Declan McBride who came 3rd. Molly Trearty was 2nd woman home with Paula Hegarty in 3rd place. Subject: Cranford Ac Notes. Cranford bring home Nationals medals. Sunday last saw 11 of our young athletes make the long journey to Waterford for the Juvenile Uneven Age Cross Country Championships. These juvenile athletes had to qualify out of Ulster to compete at this event. First up in the u11 girls race was Miah Fletcher who had a superb race and kept with the lead pack throughout the 1500m course to come home in an excellent 6th position earning herself an individual medal.   Cranford perform well at Nationals Even Age Cross Country Championships in Abbotstown Our U12 Girls were the first race of the day with Miah Fletcher, Clodagh Neely, Blathnaid Gallagher and Aine O’Connell. The race was 2 laps of the 1,000m course. The girls all got out well with over 200 athletes in this race Miah run a very gutsy race and led the team home in 17th place followed by Clodagh, Blathnaid and Aine. Well done girls. Miah was a counter in the Ulster team who won Gold, this is a great achievement for Miah. Miah will run in three weeks time in Waterford in the Girls U11 ... read more..

On what was a wet and cold winters morning all roads led to the Finn Valley Centre in Stranorlar for the Northern Ireland and Ulster Cross Country Championships uneven ages. Cranford AC   Sunday last saw the second day of the Donegal Championships Uneven Age hosted by Finn Valley where the weather couldn't have been kinder to the large crowd of athletes and supporters who attended.   First up for Cranford AC were our U9 girls and Cliodna McBride, on her first race for the club, got the day off to a great start coming home in a brilliant 2nd place closely followed by Karen Neely, Tara McGarvey, Orla Cunningham, Cliona O'Connell and Emma McGee. Cranford Ac get season off to a great start in Carndonagh Sunday saw the start of the Cross Country season in Carndonagh where the wet and windy conditions didn't put off the big crowd of athletes that braved the elements to compete in the first of the Donegal Championships hosted by Inishowen AC. First up for Cranford AC was Bridie Trearty in the Masters race. Bridie had a great run over the 3500 course and stayed with the lead pack throughout to claim a Bronze medal in what was a very fast competitive race.
